Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

Wage Payment: Employee rights include:- Pay for all wages earned (INFO # 3) at the rate accepted by the company and worker.

– Pay of a minimum of base pay (INFO # 1), the suitable Colorado or regional minimum wage, and all earned overtime salaries without impermissible reductions from their incomes;.

– Pay of all earned salaries without impermissible deductions (INFO # 16).

Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance

Statutes & Rules: DLSS imposes numerous of Colorado’s wage and hour and other types of labor statutes and labor guidelines, employment including the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (” COMPS Order”), and the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please go to the Division’s Labor Statutes and Labor Rules websites for present and prior variations of essential Colorado labor statutes and guidelines.

Published Guidance: The Division’s primary kinds of public assistance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) – the Division’s officially authorized notifications, viewpoints, and employment explanations on numerous labor law subjects; and.

– KNOWLEDGEs (Knowledge for Workers on Labor Law is Empowering & Drives Good Employment) one-page summaries for workers on their labor rights.

Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

Demands & Complaints for Wages: If a company owes you wages, you can send your company a composed need for payment of salaries by mail, email, text, or other electronic ways. A written demand employment may be sent to the employer at the same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled salaries is filed with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be found on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website.

Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is received and examined, a letter describing the nature of the grievance and the amounts alleged to be owed is sent out to the employer. Investigations Launched by the Division (” Direct Investigations”): The Division might carry out employer-wide direct investigations of possible infractions of Colorado wage and hour law. If you wish to send an idea, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you wish to submit a private claim for unsettled incomes, employment you need to complete a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website. To appeal a direct investigation citation or one or more Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer may send a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
